Fatigue Crack Growth of Natural Rubber/Butadiene Rubber Blend Containing Waste Tyre Rubber Powders

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fatigue crack growth in NR/BR compound and the effect of two different types recycled rubber powder (RRP) i.e. micronized cryo-ground 74 ?m ambient-ground 400 were studied using fracture mechanics approach. Absolute relative hysteresis losses single-edge notch tensile (SENT) specimens determined with a displacement-controlled strain compensating for permanent set samples throughout Crack Growth (FCG) experiments. Results indicated correlation between absolute/relative loss fatigue rate under specific dynamic amplitudes. Differences showed that additional energy dissipation, due to multiple new surfaces at tip, contributes FCG RRP compounds. At higher tearing energy, beside other factors affecting performance compounds, both absolute are slightly detrimental rates.

Study On Waste Tyre Rubber As Concrete Aggregates

At present the disposal of waste tyres is becoming a major waste management problem in the world. It is estimated that 1.2 billions of waste tyre rubber produced globally per year. It is estimated that 11% of post consumer tyres are exported and 27% are sent to landfill, stockpiled or dumped illegally and only 4% is used for civil engineering projects. Hence efforts have been taken to identify ...

Catalytic Pyrolysis of Waste Tyre Rubber into Hydrocarbons Via Base Catalysts

The waste tyres represent a source of energy and valuable hydrocarbon products. Waste tyres were pyrolysed catalytically in a batch reactor under atmospheric pressure. The effects of basic catalysts (MgO and CaCO3) were studied on the pyrolysis products. The distribution ratio of gas, liquid and char with MgO and CaCO3 were 24.4:39.8:35.8 wt % and 32.5:32.2:35.2 wt % r...

The Cyclization of Natural Rubber

The effects of solvent, temperature, time, weight percent of catalyst on the rate and mechanism of cyclization of natural rubber (NR) was studied in toluene and xylene solutions having tin tetra chloride catalyst (SnCl4). Iodometric titration show, with 8% SnCl4 (based on polymer weight) cyclization occurs, leaving 27.4% of the total unsaturation. Infrared spectra of c...

Influence of Experimental Parameters on Fatigue Crack Growth and Heat Build-Up in Rubber

Loading parameters (frequency, amplitude ratio and waveform) are varied to determine their influence on fatigue crack growth in rubber. Up to three different rubber blends are investigated: one actual engineering material and two model materials. Fatigue crack growth curves and strain distributions of pure shear and faint waist pure shear samples are compared for a model material. Fatigue behav...
